Manufacturing Areas

Delmar has six manufacturing areas in addition to the pilot plant. All of the vessels are serviced through on-line nitrogen inerting, steam and hot water heating and methanol/water cooling. All of the areas have steel grid mezzanines that allow access from both the upper and floor levels. The manufacturing areas are also serviced with a variety of on-line solvents. All of the manufacturing areas along with the equipment found in each are listed below.

This is followed by a general listing of specialized manufacturing equipment that is located elsewhere or may be used in one or more manufacturing areas.

Production Area #1

occupies an area of approximately 330 m2 with a total of 16 vessels and auxiliary equipment. An equipment washing room is also located in this area.

Production Area #2

occupies a floor space of approximately 320 m2, including two milling and packaging rooms and atmospheric tray dryers located in this area. The milling rooms are isolated from the other areas by a gowning room with air controls.

Isolation Room #1

occupies an area of approximately 65 m2 and contains an air scrubbing system.

Isolation Room #2

occupies an area of approximately 65 m2 and has self-contained centrifugation and drying capabilities.

Isolation Room #3

occupies an area of approximately 65 m2 that was newly equipped and renovated in the late 1990s so that all service lines are enclosed behind white, easy-to-clean walls. This area also has a self-contained scrubbing system that filters the air in the room.

Hydrogenation Room

occupies an area of approximately 40 m2 in an external area with explosion panels that meet current regulations.
